About the trek

Thalay La Trek 2026

Thalay La Trek is a compact high-pass journey across the open alpine country between Khaplu and Shigar. The trail passes summer grazing grounds and traditional Balti settlements before climbing to the broad 4,572-metre pass.

From Thalay La, clear conditions provide wide views toward Masherbrum, Mango Gusor and the surrounding Karakoram. No technical climbing is normally required, but altitude and a long pass-crossing day demand good fitness.
