Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrive in Skardu

    Airport or hotel reception, trek briefing, equipment review and welcome dinner with the local team.

  2. Day 2

    Skardu preparation and acclimatization

    Complete local formalities, organize loads and take an easy acclimatization walk before entering the mountains.

  3. Day 3

    Drive from Skardu to Arandu

    Travel by 4×4 through Shigar and the upper valley to Arandu, the roadhead for the trek.

  4. Day 4

    Trek from Arandu to Chogo Brangsa

    Begin the approach through rugged valley terrain, following the glacier system to the first wilderness camp.

  5. Day 5

    Chogo Brangsa to Bolocho

    Continue over moraine and glacier-side trails as the Spantik and Haramosh massifs draw closer.

  6. Day 6

    Bolocho to Spantik Base Camp

    Climb steadily into the Golden Peak basin and establish camp beneath Spantik’s sweeping ice slopes.

  7. Day 7

    Spantik Base Camp acclimatization

    Rest, explore nearby viewpoints and prepare for the higher camps and pass crossing ahead.

  8. Day 8

    Spantik Base Camp to high glacier camp

    Move onto more serious glacier terrain with the guide selecting a safe line according to current conditions.

  9. Day 9

    Approach Haramosh La

    Make a measured ascent to the pass-side camp, focusing on hydration, pacing and final equipment checks.

  10. Day 10

    Cross Haramosh La

    Start early for the demanding glacier-pass crossing near 5,000 m, then descend carefully to a protected camp on the Haramosh side.

  11. Day 11

    Descend toward Kutwal Lake

    Leave the highest ice behind and descend through moraine and alpine terrain toward the Kutwal basin.

  12. Day 12

    Kutwal Lake exploration

    Enjoy a flexible day beside the turquoise lake with views of Haramosh Peak and surrounding granite walls.

  13. Day 13

    Trek down the Haramosh Valley

    Continue through summer pastures and settlements toward the lower valley and road access.

  14. Day 14

    Drive to Skardu

    Meet the vehicles and return to Skardu for a hotel, hot shower and trek debriefing.

  15. Day 15

    Skardu reserve day

    Keep a contingency day for weather, route conditions or a relaxed recovery day in Skardu.

  16. Day 16

    Departure from Skardu

    Transfer to Skardu Airport or continue with your onward travel arrangements.
