The objective
A serious expedition, clearly explained
K2 rises to 8,611 metres on the Pakistan–China border. Its steep terrain, technical climbing and rapidly changing weather make it one of the most demanding objectives in high-altitude mountaineering.
This expedition follows the classic approach through Askole and the Baltoro Glacier to base camp. The climbing period allows time for acclimatisation, route rotations and an appropriate summit window. Safety decisions remain with the expedition leader and depend on mountain conditions.
Who this expedition is for
K2 is for highly experienced, self-sufficient mountaineers. It is not an introductory 8,000-metre climb. Every applicant's experience is reviewed before a place is confirmed.
Day-by-day flow
Expedition itinerary
The schedule is intentionally flexible. Weather, road access, acclimatisation and route conditions can change the exact day plan.

Days 1–4
Islamabad briefing & journey to Skardu
Arrival support, expedition briefing, equipment checks and domestic travel to Skardu. A weather reserve day is kept for the mountain flight.

Days 5–8
Askole and the Baltoro approach
Drive by jeep to Askole and begin the supported trek through Jhola and Paiju, following the Braldu River toward the Baltoro Glacier.

Days 9–13
Baltoro Glacier to K2 Base Camp
Trek through Urdukas and Goro II to Concordia, then continue beneath Broad Peak to establish K2 Base Camp at approximately 5,150 m.

Days 14–48
Acclimatisation and climbing period
Rotations through the higher camps, route preparation, rest and acclimatisation. The summit attempt is made only when weather, route and team conditions align.

Days 49–55
Return trek to Askole
Dismantle base camp and retrace the Baltoro route via Concordia, Goro II, Paiju and Jhola before the jeep transfer from Askole.

Days 56–60
Skardu, Islamabad & departure
Return to Skardu, fly or travel overland to Islamabad, complete the expedition debrief and transfer to the airport for departure.

Common questions
K2 expedition FAQ
Is a summit guaranteed?+
No. Summit attempts depend on weather, route safety, health and individual performance. The expedition leader may turn a climber around at any time for safety.
Can I join without an 8,000 m summit?+
Applications are reviewed individually, but extensive high-altitude and technical expedition experience is essential. Contact us with your climbing résumé before booking.
Are oxygen and high-altitude porters included?+
They can be arranged according to your selected service package. Quantities, porter ratios and costs must be confirmed in your written proposal.
What happens if the Skardu flight is cancelled?+
The itinerary includes flexibility. When necessary, the team may travel overland via the Karakoram Highway; additional costs are handled according to the final booking terms.
